641 Horsepower Changes the Character of the GV60

The GV60 Magma uses two high-performance electric motors. Under normal maximum output, they produce 600 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque. Pressing the Boost button temporarily increases output to as much as 641 horsepower and 583 lb-ft for up to 15 seconds.

Performance Feature GV60 Magma
Standard Maximum Output 600 hp / 546 lb-ft
Boost Mode 641 hp / 583 lb-ft for up to 15 seconds
0-60 MPH 3.4 seconds with Launch Control
Drive System Dual-motor AWD with rear electronic limited-slip differential
Wheels 21-inch Magma-exclusive forged wheels with summer tires

The changes go much deeper than motor output. Genesis equips the Magma with electronically controlled suspension, revised suspension geometry, a rear electronic limited-slip differential, large Monobloc front brakes, Launch Control, and High-Performance Battery Control.

The result is a GV60 developed for sustained high-performance driving rather than simply faster straight-line acceleration.

GT, Sprint, Drift, and Boost Modes

Genesis developed several Magma-exclusive driving functions to change how the SUV responds depending on the road and the driver’s priorities.

GT Mode

Balances strong performance with stability, comfort, and efficiency for high-speed touring.

Sprint Mode

Prioritizes maximum performance and sharpens the vehicle’s key performance settings.

MY Mode

Allows the driver to personalize performance settings, including e-LSD and stability-control behavior.

Drift Mode

Adjusts front and rear torque distribution and the electronic limited-slip differential for controlled rear-focused behavior on a suitable closed course.

Boost Mode

Raises output to as much as 641 horsepower for up to 15 seconds.

Launch Control

Manages traction during hard acceleration and enables the published 3.4-second 0-60 mph time under appropriate conditions.

Range and Charging for South Florida Driving

The performance-focused 2027 GV60 Magma uses an 84.0-kWh battery and carries an EPA-estimated driving range of 222 miles.

When connected to a compatible 350-kW, 800-volt DC ultra-fast charger, Genesis says the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes. Actual charging time depends on battery temperature, starting state of charge, charger output, weather, and other conditions.

The GV60 Magma also comes with a factory-installed NACS charge port. Genesis currently lists access to approximately 36,000 compatible Tesla Superchargers in the U.S., along with a growing IONNA charging network.

Magma Design: Wider, Lower, and More Aerodynamic

The GV60 Magma looks related to the standard GV60, but nearly every major exterior surface has been reconsidered for high-performance use.

The body is wider and lower, with redesigned front and rear fascias, pronounced fenders, sculpted side aero, canards, and an exclusive wing-type rear spoiler. Genesis also incorporates a distinctive three-hole front cooling structure above the main intake.

Magma-exclusive 21-inch forged wheels reduce weight while accommodating the SUV’s upgraded brakes. The production model measures approximately 182.5 inches long, 76.4 inches wide, and 61.4 inches tall, with a 114.2-inch wheelbase.

U.S. exterior colors currently include Magma Orange, Uyuni White, Makalu Gray Matte, and Vik Black, subject to production and availability.

A Performance Cabin That Still Feels Like a Genesis

The GV60 Magma seats five and combines performance-focused equipment with the comfort expected from a Genesis luxury vehicle.

Magma-specific suede seating surfaces, orange accents, black aluminum trim, alloy pedals, and a unique steering wheel distinguish the cabin from a standard GV60. The front bucket seats provide substantial support during harder cornering while retaining heating, ventilation, and power adjustment.

The driver also gets a Head-Up Display, Digital Center Mirror, dual-zone climate control, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, manual rear side-window shades, wireless phone charging, Genesis Digital Key 2, and fingerprint authentication.

27-Inch OLED Display and Magma-Specific Technology

The dashboard centers around a 27-inch OLED instrument cluster and navigation display. Magma receives its own graphic interface designed to show performance information quickly and clearly.

When performance functions are active, the display can show information such as motor and battery temperatures, G-force, regenerative braking levels, boost time, and other performance data.

The GV60 Magma also uses Virtual Gear Shift, which changes motor output, regenerative braking, sound, and feedback to simulate the behavior of a high-performance multi-speed transmission.

Active Sound Design+ adds synchronized performance sounds inside and outside the vehicle. An 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system with a 1,400-watt amplifier handles conventional music and audio.

Driver Assistance and Everyday Technology

Although the GV60 Magma is built around performance, it retains a comprehensive suite of Genesis driver-assistance systems.

Available and included technology: Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist 2, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Smart Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist 2, and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2.

These systems are designed to assist an attentive driver and have operating limitations. They do not make the GV60 Magma autonomous or replace responsible vehicle control.

GV60 Magma vs. the Regular 2027 GV60

The GV60 Magma is not simply another equipment package. It sits above the regular GV60 range with a substantially more powerful dual-motor system and dedicated performance hardware.

2027 GV60 Starting MSRP Horsepower EPA Range
GV60 RWD $46,250 225 hp 306 miles
GV60 AWD $49,950 314 hp 282 miles
GV60 Prestige AWD $57,500 314 hp 267 miles
GV60 Magma AWD $69,950 600 hp / 641 hp Boost 222 miles

The regular GV60 prioritizes range, everyday performance, and luxury. The Magma trades some range for far greater output, specialized cooling, suspension and braking hardware, aerodynamic changes, and track-oriented software.
