Our team at Delray Genesis takes a look at what’s included in the 2025 GV80, plus, rides along with our friend at Raiti’s Rides on YouTube for a test drive. Let’s see what this luxury SUV is all about!

  What’s New for 2025?

For the 2025 model year, the GV80 has been updated with some new top-of-the-line technology and amenities including:

  • A brand new grille

  • Micro Lens Array headlamps

  • Two-wheel options: 20 or 22-inch options

  • New color choice: Storr Green in glossy or matte

  • 27-inch gauge cluster and infotainment display

  • Three new interior hues: Earth Brown, Bordeaux Brown, and Glacier White

  • Plus, Genesis introduced the GV80 Coupe

With this new iteration of the GV80, Genesis is setting the standard for the SUV market.

Exterior Features

Looking at the headlights, you’ll see Genesis’ unique dual split design with a microarray of LEDs. Plus, it has LED daytime running lamps and turn signals. Working toward the bottom, the GV80 is equipped with functional large air intake openings that have been designed with Genesis’ unique criss-cross design and a bright shiny chrome finish if buyers choose the Prestige trim.

The main grille is quite large with a double criss-cross lace design and a hidden forward-facing camera. A functional air intake sits just below the main grille. The Genesis badge on the hood is made from real metal with intricate etching for a luxurious touch.

Standard on all GV80s are six-piston Brembo brake calipers and buyers can choose between 20 or 22-inch wheels. Plus, all GV80s come standard with all-wheel-drive.

Interior

The GV80 is characterized by a rich and elegant interior. Even lower trim levels come with burled wood trim, metal accents, and integrated ambient lighting. Plus, the front seats have a massage function. Yes, please!

The 27-inch gauge cluster and infotainment system sits on the dash, and comes equipped with all kinds of apps, including the new “Mood Curator.” Within this app you can set up scent, lighting, and sound, to create a relaxing environment in your vehicle.

The resolution on the 360-degree camera is super clear, giving you a look around the entire vehicle.

The dual climate control is found below and can be changed with the easy-to-use touchscreen, plus, it has knobs to change the volume of the radio. To top it off, it comes with wireless charging just under the dash.

Engine & Performance

The GV80 is built on the same underpinnings as the G80. Engine choices include:

  • 304-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder: 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds

  • 375-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6: 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds

Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. EPA estimated gas mileage comes in at 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway for the four-cylinder engine, and 16 mpg and 22 mpg for the V6. Plus, you can tow up to 6000 pounds.

It also comes equipped with an electronic brake booster.

The GV80 also has several drive modes including:

  • Eco
  • Comfort

  • Sport

  • Snow

  • Custom

Plus, it has a 12.3-inch head-up display, creating a nice balance of technology throughout the cabin.

How the GV80 Drives

Because of the construction of the GV80 and the sound-deadening materials used throughout, the 2025 GV80, the overall ride inside is quiet even if there is chaos outside.

This just shows Genesis’ commitment to excellence in every facet of their vehicles.
